Accor Partners with Private Conglomerate to Manage a 150-key Ibis Styles Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Hospitality tycoon Accor, in partnership with the private corporation Yuluch Elyano Trading, has made a management deal to build property under the banner of its leading design economy brand known as Ibis Styles. This is in light of the group’s plan to expand its reach in Ethiopia.

Yuluch Elyano Trading will control the 150-key hotel to be built in Addis Ababa, becoming the fifth emerging property in the city’s capital, and joining Accor’s growing list of projects under various brands, such as Mercure, MGallery, Mövenpick, and Pullman.

Mark Willis, the Chief executive officer for the Middle East & Africa Accor, has this to say about the deal: “Accor’s and Yuluch Elyano Trading’s partnership our company Accor a thrilling opportunity to exhibit our Ibis Styles brand in an arena where Africa’s thriving domestic travel segment drives the demand for ideas about state-of-the-art budget hospitality.”

Details about the Upcoming Project

Presently, Accor’s African portfolio consists of 159 properties with 25,389 keys, along with an additional 58 hotels with 13,413 keys that are currently under development, raising its presence to 25 brands.

Ibis Styles Addis Ababa will feature 150 rooms with the brand’s proprietary Sweet BedTM, along with an all-day dining setting, gym, and fitness center, meeting space options, and car park.

The property will be situated only a kilometer from the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, just off the city’s main road and extremely close to corporate embassies and corporate institutions.

An opening date has been set for 2023.
